MEMORIAM MARIS

When we feel the environment of the sea for the first time, it seems that we have felt it before; its colors, its textures, its sound... everything is familiar to us. In Memoriam Maris, I propose a poetic vision of our biological connection with water and our complex relation to it. The sea is rematerialized in a journey through textures, scents, salt, and movement; an installation that is only completed when the visitor accepts the invitation to interact with it and experience the work with all senses.

The following three photographs are by Stephanie Rössing. The third picture shows the five essences of the sea: Mediterranean seaweed, seaweed essence, fig tree, lavender, and pine essence.
